Golden State Warriors big man Al Horford welcomed the chance to reunite with a familiar teammate and expressed confidence that the fit in Golden State will be a strong one.

According to Dalton Johnson of NBC Sports Bay Area, Horford admitted he did not expect to share the floor with Kristaps Porzingis once again, but is enthusiastic about what the veteran center brings to the team.

“It was special, it was just really fun,” Horford said of playing alongside Porzingis during their time with the Boston Celtics.

“We all know everything he can do. He can shoot the three, can post up, draw fouls, kind of play the mid-range offensively. He’s just very potent. Defensively, protects the rim. I’m just looking forward for him to be here and help us, because I feel like he’ll be a big help for us.”

Porzingis has played 10 seasons for 5 teams, including the Mavericks and Knicks. He has averaged 19.6 points and 7.7 rebounds in 518 regular-season games.

He was selected to play in 1 All-Star game, and has won 1 NBA championship.
