EA7 Emporio Armani Milan escaped LDLC Arena with a narrow 77-76 win over LDLC ASVEL Villeurbanne on Friday night, surviving a final replay review that denied the hosts a potential game-winner. The result extended the Italian side’s winning streak to three games and lifted it to a 14-13 record in EuroLeague Round 27.
Marko Guduric controlled the tempo throughout the night, finishing with 18 points and seven assists while posting a team-high performance index rating of 23. Quinn Ellis added 13 points and five rebounds, while Armoni Brooks and Zach LeDay reached double figures to maintain scoring balance.
The French club opened with strong ball movement and perimeter shooting to grab an early advantage, but Milan adjusted defensively and slowed the pace before halftime. Switching on pick-and-roll actions limited interior touches and helped the visitors carry a five-point lead into the break.
Peppe Poeta’s group stretched the margin to double digits in the third quarter by attacking closeouts and converting efficiently inside, shooting 66.7 percent on two-point attempts. Despite committing 17 turnovers compared to just three by ASVEL, the Italian side protected the paint and controlled defensive rebounds late.
ASVEL responded with a late surge behind Braian Angola, who scored a game-high 23 points, while Zac Seljaas added 14 and Thomas Heurtel contributed 12. The hosts struggled to finish inside, converting just 42.5 percent of their two-point shots, which limited their ability to capitalize on extra possessions.
With under a minute remaining, the Villeurbanne side cut the deficit to one and earned a final chance after Mbaye Ndiaye appeared to finish a decisive dunk. After review, officials ruled the attempt came a millisecond late, sealing Milan’s road victory.
The loss dropped ASVEL to 7-20, while Milan moved closer to the playoff race and will aim for a fourth straight win when it hosts Dubai Basketball next week. The French side visits Valencia Basket next Thursday.
