Olympiacos Piraeus secured the top seed in the 2025-26 EuroLeague regular season with an 85-76 victory over EA7 Emporio Armani Milan on Thursday night at Peace and Friendship Stadium.
The result capped a strong late-season surge, as the Greek side finished with a 26-12 record and extended its home dominance with an 11th straight win on its own floor.
The hosts established control early, opening the game with a 15-5 run behind efficient scoring from Sasha Vezenkov and Tyler Dorsey.
Olympiacos maintained the lead throughout, entering halftime ahead 47-45 after Dorsey knocked down a buzzer-beating jumper to close the second quarter.
The decisive stretch came after the break, when the home team produced a 15-0 run while limiting Milan to just 10 points in the third quarter.
That defensive stretch created separation, forcing the Italian side into difficult half-court possessions and reducing its interior efficiency.
Milan responded with a 14-0 run in the fourth quarter, cutting the deficit to a single-possession margin and briefly shifting momentum.
Olympiacos adjusted defensively in the closing minutes, holding the visitors to only two field goals over the final four minutes to regain control.
Nikola Milutinov anchored the interior with 13 points and a season-high 15 rebounds, converting 5 of his 6 two-point attempts while dominating the defensive glass.
Vezenkov led all scorers with 20 points, while Dorsey added 18 points and hit key perimeter shots to stabilize the offense during momentum swings.
The home side finished with 40 total rebounds compared to Milan’s 35, creating second-chance opportunities and limiting transition chances for the opposition.
Olympiacos also posted a perfect 17-for-17 performance from the free-throw line, maintaining efficiency in late-game situations.
For Milan, Shavon Shields led the scoring with 24 points, including five three-pointers, providing consistent perimeter production.
