The Brooklyn Nets and Orlando Magic enter Thursday’s game at Kia Center with notable players sidelined, potentially affecting rotations and strategies. The matchup tips off at 7:00 PM ET in Orlando.

Brooklyn will be without several contributors, including Haywood Highsmith, who continues to recover from right knee surgery. Two-way players Tyson Etienne, Chaney Johnson, and E.J. Liddell are also unavailable, while Cam Thomas is out for personal reasons.

Orlando faces a lighter injury report but will miss Franz Wagner, who is managing a left high ankle sprain, and two-way player Colin Castleton. Wagner has averaged 22.2 points and 6.1 rebounds in 26 games this season.

The Nets have struggled recently, dropping consecutive games against the Pistons and Lakers by large margins. Michael Porter Jr. leads the team with 25.5 points per game, while Nic Claxton adds 12.2 points and 7.3 rebounds. Brooklyn’s depth could be tested without key rotational players.

Orlando also comes off two losses, including a 92-128 defeat at Oklahoma City. Paolo Banchero has been the Magic’s primary scorer at 21.6 points per game, supported by Desmond Bane’s 19.2 points and Anthony Black’s 15.8 points. Missing Wagner reduces the team’s scoring and defensive versatility.

Previous meetings this season favor the Magic, who won both encounters. On November 14, Orlando beat Brooklyn 105-98 in the NBA Cup, and in January, they secured a 104-103 overtime victory in Brooklyn.

Tip-off at Kia Center marks an important opportunity for both teams to halt losing streaks. The Nets seek a win to improve their 13-36 record, while the Magic aim to rebound from back-to-back losses and maintain their 25-24 playoff positioning.
