Paolo Banchero banked in a 3-pointer at the overtime buzzer to lift the Orlando Magic past the Brooklyn Nets 104-103 on Wednesday night at Barclays Center.
Banchero led Orlando with 30 points, adding six rebounds and six assists, while Wendell Carter Jr. contributed 20 points and six boards.
Tristan da Silva scored 14 and Noah Penda added 13 as the Magic improved to 21-17 and extended their winning streak against Brooklyn to eight games.
Orlando trailed late in regulation after Noah Clowney’s jumper put Brooklyn ahead 91-90, but da Silva’s dunk with 17 seconds left tied the game before Egor Demin’s three-pointer forced overtime.
In the extra period, Demin gave Brooklyn a 100-99 lead with 1:07 remaining, but Carter’s dunk reclaimed the advantage. Demin hit another three with 3.6 seconds left, and Banchero’s 26-foot banked shot ended the contest.
Michael Porter Jr. led the Nets with 34 points, while Demin added 18, but Brooklyn fell to 11-23 despite shooting 42 percent from the floor.
The Magic, who had lost to Washington two nights earlier, gained a hard-fought road victory by holding the Nets to just 27 percent from three-point range (9-of-33).
Orlando also grabbed 55 rebounds and dished 28 assists, showcasing a balanced attack that complemented Banchero’s heroics.
The Nets were coming off a home win over Denver on Sunday but could not hold off Orlando in the closing minutes of both regulation and overtime.
Orlando hosts the Philadelphia 76ers on Friday, while Brooklyn returns home to face the Los Angeles Clippers the same night.
