The Minnesota Timberwolves overcame an 18-point deficit to beat the Toronto Raptors 128-126, earning five wins in their six games on Wednesday night.
Anthony Edwards dropped 30 points, including 13 in the fourth quarter, Bones Hyland added 20, Jaden McDaniels with 19, while Naz Reid and Julius Randle each had 17 for the Timberwolves.
The Wolves won in Toronto for the first time since January. 21, 2004, as their previous road win in the series came on February 14, 2021, when the Raptors were playing in Tampa due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Rudy Gobert added 10 points and 12 rebounds, while Donte DiVincenzo with 15 points, as they improved to 14-5 against Eastern Conference opponents.
On the other hand, Brandon Ingram scored 25 points, Immanuel Quickley had 23, and Scottie Barnes had 22 points and 10 rebounds for the Raptors.
Toronto lost for the fourth time in its past five home games.
Minnesota trailed 77-59 after the Raptors scored five straight points to start the third quarter, as Toronto led 104-94 after three.
Edwards’ driving layup with 2:26 left in the fourth gave Minnesota a one-point edge, 118-117, their first lead since early in the second.
The Raptors committed seven of their 13 turnovers in the final period, resulting in 11 points for the Wolves.
Meanwhile, Toronto guard Ochai Agbaji will not play on Wednesday in the final game before Thursday afternoon’s trade deadline.
Minnesota will host the Pelicans on Friday, while the Raptors will host Chicago on Thursday.
