Portland Trail Blazers forward Deni Avdija sat out Monday’s loss to Boston, marking his second consecutive missed game, but he is expected to be back in the lineup Tuesday in Washington, according to Sean Highkin of The Rose Garden Report on Twitter.

Avdija tweaked a back injury last week, and interim head coach Tiago Splitter said the team chose to give him an additional day of rest on Monday as a precautionary measure.

Avdija has played 6 seasons for the Wizards and Trail Blazers. He has averaged 12.8 points, 6.3 rebounds and 3.2 assists in 401 regular-season games.
