The Los Angeles Clippers travel to the nation’s capital on Monday, January 19, to face the Washington Wizards at Capital One Arena with both teams navigating extensive injury reports.

Tip-off is scheduled for 3:00 PM ET, marking the second meeting this season between the clubs after the Clippers earned a 119-105 home win five days earlier.

Los Angeles enters the afternoon at 18-23 and riding a five-game winning streak that has stabilized its position in the Western Conference playoff race. Washington sits at 10-31 and has dropped six straight games, remaining near the bottom of the Eastern Conference standings.

The Clippers’ injury list is headlined by the continued absence of Kawhi Leonard, who remains out with a left knee contusion. Leonard leads the team with 28.2 points per game and is their primary two-way option when available.

Bradley Beal is out for the season due to a left hip fracture, while Bogdan Bogdanovic remains out as part of left hamstring injury management. Derrick Jones Jr. is sidelined with a right knee sprain.

Veteran point guard Chris Paul is listed as out and not with the team. John Collins is available despite right groin soreness and is expected to play a key role in the frontcourt.

With multiple scorers sidelined, the offensive load continues to fall on James Harden, who averages 25.8 points and 8.1 assists per game while logging nearly 36 minutes per night. Ivica Zubac adds interior stability with 14.9 points and 10.8 rebounds per contest.

Washington’s injury situation is equally significant, starting with Trae Young, who remains out with a right knee MCL sprain and quad contusion, and is yet to make his Wizards debut following a mid-season trade.

Bilal Coulibaly is sidelined with a lower back strain, while Cam Whitmore remains out due to right shoulder deep vein thrombosis. Tristan Vukcevic is also unavailable with a left hamstring strain.

Despite the injuries, Washington continues to lean on CJ McCollum, who leads the team at 18.8 points per game, and Alex Sarr, averaging 16.9 points, 7.5 rebounds, and 2.2 blocks.

The Wizards are coming off consecutive road losses at Denver and Sacramento, allowing 121 and 128 points respectively. Defensive consistency remains an issue, particularly with limited perimeter depth.

Los Angeles most recently earned a 121-117 overtime win in Toronto. The Clippers have held opponents to 112.5 points per game this season, an area that could prove decisive again.
