Kobe Bufkin has landed a new opportunity, signing a 10-day contract with the Los Angeles Lakers as he looks to reestablish himself at the NBA level.
Bufkin had previously joined the Memphis Grizzlies on a 10-day deal earlier this season but never appeared in a game during that stint.
The former first-round pick continues to search for stability after a turbulent start to his pro career.
Selected 15th overall in the 2023 draft out of the University of Michigan, Bufkin logged 27 appearances across two seasons with the Atlanta Hawks.
In limited minutes, he averaged five points, two rebounds, and 1.6 assists per game, often flashing scoring instincts without a consistent role.
Atlanta dealt Bufkin to the Brooklyn Nets in September, but his stay was brief, as he was waived before the regular season began.
Since then, he’s been trying to find traction wherever opportunity presents itself.
