Under current rules, he is eligible for a deal worth as much as $87 million over four seasons, a figure that reflects his steady development, defensive versatility, and ability to contribute on both ends of the floor.
The broader offseason picture complicates matters. Chicago is set to face potential roster turnover, with several key players approaching free agency.
Dosunmu’s backcourt partner Coby White is also headed toward unrestricted free agency, while veteran center Nikola Vucevic, big man Zach Collins, and wing Kevin Huerter are in the same contractual position.
