The Memphis Grizzlies announced that Ja Morant will remain unavailable Friday night against the Oklahoma City Thunder as he continues to recover from a bruised right calf, marking his fourth consecutive absence.

The team confirmed the update through social media, underscoring that Morant’s status had trended in the wrong direction after initially being viewed as a possible game-time decision before ultimately being ruled out in each of the past three contests.

As noted by Damichael Cole of The Memphis Commercial Appeal, Morant’s designation had hovered at questionable before each of those games, only for the Grizzlies to take a more cautious approach and sideline their star guard as the week progressed.

Memphis could, however, see some help on the wing. Rookie Cedric Coward, who suffered a right ankle sprain during Sunday’s matchup with the Los Angeles Lakers, is listed as questionable after missing roughly two and a half games.

His availability will likely depend on how his ankle responds closer to tipoff.

Also on the injury report is Vince Williams Jr., whose season has been disrupted by lingering patellar tendinitis in his left knee.

Williams has been limited to just one appearance over Memphis’ last 10 games and remains a question mark heading into the Thunder matchup as the Grizzlies continue to juggle health concerns throughout the rotation.
