The Knicks are expected to waive forward Tosan Evbuomwan, according to Ian Begley of SNY.tv, with the move set to occur before his two-way salary becomes fully guaranteed.

Waiving Evbuomwan will open up a two-way roster spot while limiting New York’s financial obligation.

Evbuomwan, who went undrafted in 2023 after being named Ivy League Player of the Year at Princeton, has spent the last two-plus seasons moving between the NBA and G League.

He signed multiple 10-day contracts as a rookie before spending time on two-way deals with Detroit, Brooklyn, and most recently New York.

His role with the Knicks was minimal at the NBA level, appearing in five games for just eight total minutes, all in garbage time.

Most of his production came in the G League with the Westchester Knicks, where he averaged 17.7 points, 6.6 rebounds, and 3.9 assists across 12 games.

Although he will only receive a prorated share of his two-way salary, Evbuomwan earned a significant bonus from the Knicks’ NBA Cup win last month, which nearly offsets the loss.

If he clears waivers, he will become a free agent, while the Knicks will carry an open two-way slot alongside Kevin McCullar Jr. and Trey Jemison.
