The New York Knicks are adding depth to their frontcourt with the signing of free agent forward Tosan Evbuomwan. The move was first reported by NBA insider Michael Scotto, who noted that the deal was confirmed by Evbuomwan’s agent, George S. Langberg of GSL Sports Group.
Evbuomwan appeared in 28 games for the Brooklyn Nets during the 2024-25 season. He averaged 9.5 points, 4.3 rebounds, and 2.0 assists in 23.8 minutes per game.
His best performance came on January 12 against the Utah Jazz, when he scored a career-high 22 points with five rebounds and one assist. Despite showing promise, the Nets waived him on August 29.
The British-born forward began the 2024-25 campaign with the Los Angeles Clippers, signing an Exhibit 10 contract in October before being waived the same day. He later joined the San Diego Clippers in the G League, eventually earning a two-way deal with Brooklyn in January.
Before landing in New York, Evbuomwan also had short stints with the Memphis Grizzlies and Detroit Pistons during the 2023-24 season. In 45 career NBA games, he has averaged 8.2 points, 4.0 rebounds, and 1.6 assists while shooting 44.7 percent from the field.
For the Knicks, the signing provides another versatile option on the wing and in the frontcourt. With a revamped roster under new head coach Mike Brown, New York is continuing to add pieces ahead of the 2025-26 season.
The franchise made several offseason moves, including drafting of Mohamed Diawara. Evbuomwan now joins a roster headlined by Jalen Brunson, Mikal Bridges, OG Anunoby, and Karl-Anthony Towns.
