Norman Powell made it clear that the Miami Heat aren’t satisfied with where they stand as the season moves toward the midpoint, despite holding a 20-16 record, according to Anthony Chiang.
Powell indicated the group still sees room for growth after an up-and-down stretch marked by inconsistent play.
Recently, Miami has leaned into physicality and effort on the glass, a shift that has helped fuel five wins in their last six games.
Teammate Pelle Larsson pointed to rebounding as a developing calling card, crediting Bam Adebayo, Kel’el Ware, and Andrew Wiggins for setting the tone with their activity around the basket.
“I think lately what really has become an identity is Bam, Kel’el, Wiggins putting pressure on the boards,” Larsson said.
He added that when the Heat control rebounds, it allows them to speed up the game and wear opponents down over the course of a night.
