Tyler Herro was dressed and available on the bench Sunday night despite the Miami Heat having no intention of using him, according to Anthony Chiang.

Herro has appeared in just one of the team’s last 13 games while dealing with a right big toe contusion, but his presence signals progress.

He is expected to travel with the Heat on their upcoming four-game road trip and could potentially return to action Tuesday in Minnesota.

Meanwhile, Jaime Jaquez Jr. was sidelined Sunday after suffering a sprained right ankle late Saturday night.

It marked only the second game the player has missed all season. He explained that he attempted to test the ankle before deciding to sit.

“I just tried running, tried running, tried moving around on it, and it wasn’t really feeling right,” Jaquez said. “So that’s what caused that decision.”
