The Phoenix Suns continued their strong road stretch Monday night with a 115-101 victory over the Washington Wizards at Capital One Arena.
Phoenix improved to 19-13 and secured its fourth consecutive win, marking the team’s first time six games above .500 this season.
Dillon Brooks paced the Suns with 26 points, shooting 8-of-20 from the field while converting seven free throws.
Collin Gillespie delivered one of his most efficient outings of the season, scoring 25 points on 10-of-14 shooting and knocking down five three-pointers.
Devin Booker added 22 points and five assists, providing steady scoring as Phoenix maintained control throughout the second half.
The Suns shot 17-of-40 from three-point range and dominated second-chance opportunities with a 20-9 edge in offensive rebounds.
Phoenix won despite playing without center Mark Williams, who served a one-game suspension following an on-court altercation in Saturday’s win at New Orleans.
Royce O’Neale contributed 15 points and five rebounds, while Oso Ighodaro added 10 rebounds and four offensive boards in the starting lineup.
Washington fell to 7-24 and missed a chance to record its first three-game winning streak since early February.
Rookie guard Tre Johnson led the Wizards with a career-high 24 points, surpassing his previous best of 19 early in the third quarter.
Johnson opened the second half with a three-pointer, and Alex Sarr followed with a runner to trim Washington’s halftime deficit from seven points to two.
Phoenix responded with a decisive 16-3 run that stretched the lead to 77-62 and shifted momentum permanently.
Gillespie and O’Neale each hit three-pointers during the surge, while the Suns tightened their defensive rotations.
CJ McCollum added 17 points for Washington, though the Wizards struggled to keep pace offensively as the game progressed.
The Suns finished with 51 total rebounds and limited Washington’s transition chances by winning the possession battle.
Phoenix has now won five of its last six games and the first three contests of a four-game road trip.
The Wizards, who entered the night with the league’s second-worst record, are 4-4 over their last eight games but could not sustain their early second-half push.
Phoenix will close its road trip Wednesday in Cleveland.
Washington returns to action Wednesday night when it travels to Milwaukee.
