Josh Giddey has made it clear that while personal recognition is not his primary focus, earning his first All-Star selection in the 2025/26 season remains a meaningful goal for him.
He understands that individual honors are something nearly every player hopes for when entering the league, and he sees himself no differently in that regard.
At the same time, he believes those ambitions should never come at the expense of team success.
Giddey has emphasized that personal achievements only truly matter when they come within the context of winning. In his view, individual growth and team success should happen together, not in conflict.
He recognizes that everyone in the locker room wants to reach that All-Star level, but he also believes those goals must align with playing the right way and helping the team win games.
When victories come first, the individual recognition tends to follow naturally. His performance this season supports that mindset.
Through 27 games, Giddey is putting together the most productive campaign of his career, averaging 20.0 points, 9.3 rebounds, and 9.1 assists per game while shooting a career-best 40.2 percent from three-point range.
He has already recorded seven triple-doubles, a total surpassed only by Nikola Jokic, who leads the league with 14.
