The Bulls wrapped up the final 20 games of the 2024/25 regular season with an impressive 15–5 record, and much of that late push was fueled by the strong play of Coby White and Josh Giddey.
However, the two guards haven’t spent much time sharing the floor this season, largely because White has been dealing with ongoing calf issues that interrupted his availability and rhythm.
Ahead of Tuesday’s matchup in Atlanta, White shared confidence that the duo can quickly rediscover the chemistry they showed previously, according to reporting from Joe Cowley of The Chicago Sun-Times.
Head coach Billy Donovan echoed that belief, noting that having both players healthy and in sync would be a major boost for the team.
Donovan explained that the biggest challenge has been White’s process of getting back into game shape after missing time, which also affected how often he and Giddey were able to build continuity together.
Still, he pointed out that the two guards have shown in the past that they can complement each other effectively.
Their strong communication and relationship off the court have helped lay the foundation for that on-court connection, and when both are playing well, it raises the overall level of the team.
At the same time, Donovan emphasized that success won’t rest solely on their shoulders, as contributions from the rest of the roster remain essential.
That balance was evident in Tuesday’s comeback win, where both guards played starring roles.
White led the team with 24 points while also adding four assists and three steals, while Giddey delivered a triple-double performance with 19 points, 15 assists, and 11 rebounds.
Their combined effort highlighted just how impactful they can be when operating together at a high level.
