The Milwaukee Bucks are continuing to scan the league for a meaningful roster upgrade, with the front office clearly signaling an aggressive stance ahead of the trade deadline.
According to Chris Haynes, Milwaukee has been evaluating several options around the league as it looks for a player capable of shifting the team’s trajectory, and one name that has come up in that internal work is Zach LaVine of the Sacramento Kings.
Haynes explained on NBA on Prime that while no serious negotiations have taken place, LaVine is firmly on Milwaukee’s radar as part of its broader market research.
He described the Bucks as being intent on identifying a true impact player, noting that the team is doing background work rather than engaging in immediate, high-level talks.
LaVine’s production makes him a logical name to monitor, as he is averaging 20.2 points and 3.3 rebounds this season, though his availability is temporarily limited after suffering a sprained ankle that will sideline him for at least a week.
The broader takeaway from Haynes’ reporting is that Milwaukee views itself as a buyer rather than a team standing pat.
With championship aspirations still front and center, the Bucks are exploring ways to upgrade the roster before the deadline in hopes of adding a player who can meaningfully raise their ceiling.
Meanwhile, Giannis Antetokounmpo said Thursday that he has not yet had discussions with the front office regarding his future, suggesting that roster decisions are currently being handled without direct input from the franchise cornerstone.
