Former NBA player Isaiah Rider was arrested in Arizona after failing to appear at a court hearing related to a protective order obtained by his wife, according to TMZ Sports.

Court documents show Rider did not attend the hearing to determine whether the order would remain in place, while his wife, Vanessa, was present. The judge ultimately allowed the order to continue.

Arizona law enforcement confirmed that Rider’s absence led to an arrest warrant, and he was later taken into custody and processed at the Gilbert–Chandler Unified Holding Facility.

His attorney, Benjamin Taylor, said Rider would not comment further, though Rider had previously claimed the order was connected to their pending divorce and denied the underlying allegations.

The protective order was originally filed in July, with Vanessa alleging aggressive behavior toward herself and their son. Rider has said he was not formally served until December.

Earlier this month, he was also arrested in Gilbert for allegedly violating the order. Vanessa has stated the order was sought strictly for safety reasons and urged respect for the legal process as the case moves forward.
