Oklahoma City Thunder welcomed Isaiah Joe back Wednesday after he missed four games with a bruised left knee, and his impact was immediately evident in how the floor opened up offensively.

Alex Caruso pointed out that Joe’s shooting changes the geometry of the court, a sentiment relayed by Justin Martinez of The Oklahoman.

Joe is averaging 12.9 points per game, with most of that production coming from three-point range, where he attempts 6.9 shots per night and converts 41.9 percent of them.

His ability to stretch defenses well beyond the arc gives Oklahoma City a unique offensive wrinkle.

As Caruso put it, “He’s the anomaly for our team with spacing rules and cutting and moving stuff. He’s the one guy we tell to stand a couple feet behind the line and space the floor as far away from the basket as you can because he carries that threat.”

Joe has played 6 seasons for the Thunder and 76ers. He has averaged 7.9 points and 2.1 rebounds in 339 regular-season games.
