The Thunder have agreed to trade veteran guard Isaiah Joe to the Pistons in exchange for two future second-round picks, according to ESPN’s Shams Charania.
Joe spent the past four seasons in Oklahoma City after beginning his NBA career with the 76ers.
During his time with the Thunder, he established himself as one of the league’s most dependable three-point shooters, appearing in at least 71 regular-season games and shooting better than 40 percent from beyond the arc in each of the last four seasons.
Last season, the 26-year-old averaged 11.1 points, 2.5 rebounds, and 1.3 assists while connecting on 42.3 percent of his three-point attempts.
Nearly 80 percent of his field-goal attempts came from long range, highlighting his value as a floor-spacing specialist.
Although Joe has become one of the NBA’s premier perimeter shooters, his role often decreased during the playoffs because of defensive limitations.
He appeared in 13 postseason games for Oklahoma City this spring but averaged only 11.0 minutes per contest.
Detroit adds another proven outside shooter to strengthen its backcourt, while Oklahoma City acquires additional draft assets as it continues reshaping its roster.
