Pacers head coach Rick Carlisle had high praise for Bub Carrington following Washington’s 108-89 win over Indiana on Sunday, as noted by Varun Shankar.

The coach pointed to Carrington’s consistency and versatility, especially in matchups against the Pacers.

“He’s a terrific young player. He’s had a lot of good games against us,” Carlisle said, highlighting the guard’s all-around skill set. “He’s skilled, he’s big, he’s versatile, he can play different positions. I think he’s a good defender, his shooting is the real deal.”

During the exchange, Shankar suggested Derrick White as a possible high-end comparison for Carrington, noting that both guards thrive without relying heavily on getting to the rim, instead impacting games through shooting and defense.

Carlisle agreed with that comparison, signaling his belief in Carrington’s style translating to high-level success.

Carrington’s season has been uneven after he started 57 games for Washington a year ago and struggled at times to carve out a consistent role.

However, his recent play has been encouraging.

Over his last three games, all starts, Carrington has found a rhythm, averaging 17.3 points and 7.3 assists while showing the type of production that drew Carlisle’s admiration.
