New Orleans Pelicans coach James Borrego said Zion Williamson practiced Saturday and is questionable for Sunday’s game in Chicago, according to Jim Eichenhofer of Pelicans.com.

The update is unexpected, as ESPN’s Shams Charania reported earlier this month that Williamson would miss at least three weeks with a Grade 2 right adductor strain, and the team initially offered no timeline.

Last week, The Athletic’s William Guillory added that some within the organization believed Williamson wouldn’t return until January, making his quick progress notable.

He has missed six games with the injury and also sat out eight games in November due to a hamstring strain.

Despite the setbacks, Williamson has been productive when healthy, averaging 22.1 points, 5.6 rebounds and 4.0 assists in 10 games this season.
