SPAIN BOOK SPOT WITH SOLID WIN OVER KOREA

Spain were the first team to book their place at the Summer Games with a comfortable 70-50 win over Korea.

After missing out at the London Olympics, four years previous, Spain were not to be denied this year, taking a 19-11 lead after the first quarter and never relinquishing their position after that.

Sancho Lyttle led Spain with 20 points, supported by 16 from Alba Torrens.

TURKEY THUMP CUBA TO BOOK RIO TICKET

Turkey kept the strong European contingent rolling with a comprehensive 71-45 win over Cuba to book their place for the Rio Olympics.

Lara Sanders led the winners with 18 points and six rebounds.

CHINA HEAD TO RIO FOLLOWING WIN OVER BELARUS

China denied a hat-trick of European wins by beating Belarus 84-70 in the penultimate quarter-final.

The win gives the Asian powerhouses an automatic birth to the Rio Games this summer.

FRANCE CONVINCING IN ARGENTINA ROUT

France dominated Argentina 90-53 in the final quarter-final in Nantes as they progressed to the Rio Olympics, completing a strong European line-up travelling to Brazil.

A close first quarter led the hosts to pull clear in the second quarter, leading by double-digits and extending the advantage as the game progressed.

Endene Miyem paced the winners with 21 points.
