AEK Athens announced the arrival of power forward Jawad Williams, who penned a one-year deal with the Greek powerhouse on Monday.

Williams (2.04 meters, 33 years old) arrived from Royal Hali Gaziantep, where he averaged 12.6 points on 85.7% free throws and 5.2 rebounds in 30 Turkish League games last season.

A NCAA Tournament champion with North Carolina in 2005, Williams started his professional basketball career with Baloncesto Fuenlabrada of Spain. He has also played for Fayetteville, Rio Grande and Anaheim of the D-League, Rera Kamuy Hokkaido of Japan, Hapoel Galil Elyon and Hapoel Jerusalem of Israel, Cleveland of the NBA, Paris Levallois of France, Pinar Karsiyaka Izmir of Turkey and Indios de Mayaguez of Puerto Rico.

He helped Paris win the French Cup title in 2013 and also lifted the Turkish Cup trophy with Karsiyaka in 2014. He played the 2013-14 Eurocup with Paris, averaging 7.6 points and 3.4 rebounds in 9 games.
