Terrence Shannon Jr. has been cleared to resume full-contact, five-on-five practice, according to a press release issued by the Timberwolves.
The team is officially listing him as questionable for Monday’s matchup with the Kings, signaling he may be nearing a return.
Shannon has been sidelined for the past nine games due to a bone bruise on the fifth metatarsal in his left foot.
After logging 339 regular-season minutes as a rookie, he stepped into a larger role this year following the departure of Nickeil Alexander-Walker.
However, that expanded opportunity didn’t immediately lead to a jump in production; through Minnesota’s first seven games, he averaged 3.9 points and 2.4 rebounds in 16.4 minutes per night.
During Shannon’s absence, the Timberwolves have leaned on a combination of Jaylen Clark, Bones Hyland, Leonard Miller, and others to fill wing and backcourt minutes.
Minnesota is currently 10-6 and has won eight of its last 11, keeping its momentum intact even without Shannon available.
