Hornets standout LaMelo Ball is on track to return soon, as he’s officially listed as probable for Friday’s matchup in Milwaukee, according to a report from Rod Boone of The Charlotte Observer.
The 24-year-old floor general has been sidelined for the previous five games because of a right ankle impingement, but he recently took part in a G League practice session.
Head coach Charles Lee has voiced optimism about how Ball has been progressing, suggesting the team feels encouraged by his recent on-court work.
Ball, a former Rookie of the Year who earned his first and only All-Star selection in his second season, has been highly productive in limited action this fall.
Over six games, he has posted averages of 23.3 points, 9.8 assists, 7.8 rebounds, and 1.7 steals while shooting .430/.333/.815 in 33.3 minutes per night.
Charlotte may also get another young guard back on the floor, as second-year player KJ Simpson is considered probable with a left AC joint sprain.
Meanwhile, rookie center Ryan Kalkbrenner will sit out for the first time in his career, as he’s set to miss the game due to personal reasons.
