New Orleans Pelicans point guard Jose Alvarado applauded the front office for finding a way to acquire #13 pick Derik Queen on draft night following the rookie’s huge fourth quarter during Tuesday’s 116-112 home win vs. the Charlotte Hornets (12 points/7 rebounds/4 assists/3 steals/5-7 FG/2-3 FT/twelve minutes/+10 +/-).

*also played six minutes in the second quarter and posted 3 assists/1 rebound/1 steal/+3 +/-*

“That’s why Joe [Dumars] and Troy [Weaver] did what they did. They seen that, and it’s working. So, shoutout to them. He’s a good kid, though. He’s a great person, great human being outside of basketball. So, I’m happy for him. He’s gonna be a great basketball player, but he’s becoming a great man at the end of the day. So, shoutout to DQ, man. Funny guy.”
