Cody Martin has agreed to join the Indiana Pacers on a hardship exception contract, according to reports. The move comes as the Pacers deal with multiple early-season injuries, including Tyrese Haliburton’s long-term absence due to an Achilles injury.

Martin, 30, split last season between the Charlotte Hornets and Phoenix Suns, appearing in 53 games and averaging 6.8 points, 4.2 rebounds, and 2.0 assists in 22.1 minutes per contest.

He was waived by Phoenix at the start of the offseason and had remained unsigned since, despite reported interest from the Golden State Warriors and Miami Heat during free agency.

A versatile wing known for his defense and hustle, Martin is expected to provide immediate depth and energy to Indiana’s rotation as the team navigates its injury issues. He’s represented by agent Eric Fleisher.
