The Los Angeles Lakers are exploring roster upgrades ahead of the trade deadline and have expressed interest in Charlotte Hornets forward Cody Martin. According to HoopsHype’s Michael Scotto, the Lakers, Milwaukee Bucks, and Denver Nuggets are among the teams monitoring Martin’s availability.

“Charlotte Hornets swingman Cody Martin has received trade interest from several teams, including the Milwaukee Bucks, Los Angeles Lakers, and Denver Nuggets, league sources told HoopsHype,” Scotto reported.

Martin, 29, is averaging 7.8 points, 4.5 rebounds, and 2.3 assists in 24.8 minutes per game. He is in the third year of a four-year, $31 million contract.

The Lakers recently made a blockbuster move by acquiring Luka Doncic from the Dallas Mavericks, pairing him with LeBron James. With their new superstar duo in place, Los Angeles is now looking to add complementary pieces to bolster depth on the wing.

The Lakers were previously linked to Cody’s twin brother, Caleb Martin, but the Philadelphia 76ers traded him to the Mavericks. Now, Los Angeles is considering Cody as a potential addition to reinforce their rotation.

Charlotte, currently 14th in the Eastern Conference with a 12-35 record, is expected to be a seller at the deadline. The Hornets are evaluating trade offers for multiple players as they focus on their long-term rebuild.

The Lakers, sitting fifth in the Western Conference at 29-19, are looking to strengthen their roster for a deep playoff run. With the trade deadline approaching, their pursuit of Martin could gain momentum in the coming hours.
