Anthony Edwards scored 41 points to lead the Minnesota Timberwolves to a 118-114 comeback win over the Portland Trail Blazers on Wednesday night at Moda Center. Edwards, who was questionable due to back spasms, started and played a pivotal role in the fourth-quarter surge.

The Blazers held a narrow lead for most of the game, including a 61-57 edge at halftime. Kris Murray’s 3-pointer gave Portland a 46-40 lead in the second quarter, but Jaden McDaniels responded with a dunk over rookie Yang Hansen to keep Minnesota close.

Edwards sparked the Timberwolves late in the fourth quarter with a step-back jumper to make it 107-105, followed by a 3-pointer that gave Minnesota a 108-107 advantage with 3:36 left. Another long-range shot and Rudy Gobert’s dunk with 32.1 seconds remaining sealed the win.

Julius Randle contributed 19 points, supporting Minnesota’s rally after a narrow deficit. The Timberwolves, who reached the Western Conference finals last season, showed resilience in overcoming Portland’s early momentum.

Jerami Grant led the Blazers with 29 points, while Damian Lillard, returning to Portland this offseason, was honored by fans at Moda Center but remained sidelined with an Achilles injury. Guard Scoot Henderson also missed the game due to a left hamstring tear.

Minnesota shot 48.8% from the field and 50% from 3-point range, with Edwards adding four rebounds and four assists. Portland converted just 40% of shots and made 31% from beyond the arc, struggling to contain the Timberwolves in the final minutes.
