The Memphis Grizzlies topped the Miami Heat 141-125 in a preseason matchup at Kaseya Center on Friday night. Memphis snapped a four-game skid to reach 1-4 while Miami dropped to 0-6.

Miami took a 32-29 lead after one quarter. Kel’el Ware scored eight points with two dunks for the hosts.

The second quarter stayed close as both sides traded baskets. Norman Powell added 10 points with two threes to help Miami lead 68-64 at halftime.

Santiago Aldama hit a three-pointer to cap a 38-35 Grizzlies edge in the third. Memphis grabbed a 102-103 lead entering the fourth.

Memphis pulled away in the final frame with a 39-22 surge. Jaylen Wells drained a three to extend the margin to 14.

Wells finished with 21 points on seven-of-10 shooting for the victors. Javon Small added 16 points with five assists.

Jaren Jackson Jr. tallied 16 points and three rebounds. GG Jackson contributed 13 points off the bench.

Landale scored 12 points with six rebounds. The Grizzlies shot 52.9 percent from the field.

Powell led Miami with 23 points on eight-of-13 shooting. Bam Adebayo matched him with 23 points and eight rebounds.

Ware posted 20 points and 14 rebounds in the loss. Wiggins added 10 points with five assists.

Davion Mitchell scored 10 points with two assists. Miami shot 50.5 percent but committed 14 turnovers.

Memphis held a 50-62 disadvantage in paint points. The Grizzlies forced 14 Heat turnovers for 22 points.
