It has been more than a year since Karl Anthony-Towns was traded to the New York Knicks in exchange for Julius Randle and Donte DiVincenzo.
Towns recently opened up about watching Edwards develop into one of the best players in the world, marking the emergence of a new generational talent in the NBA.
Speaking of the recent interview on The Young Man & Three podcast, the big man commends his former teammate, who dominated last season, although he fell short in the playoffs.
“I get so proud when I see him doing well. I have my driver pass by a lot, the Adidas store, just to see the Anthony Edwards sign,” Towns said.
He added that watching Edwards thrive makes him feel like a proud big brother, shared by ClutchPoints.
The 7-foot center noted that Antman has charisma in making his fans believe he is on the verge of becoming the next Hall of Famer, alongside Michael Jordan, Kobe Bryant, or LeBron James.
“His want, his mind. I think his charisma and stuff is what gets people to lean in to hear what he has to say. But it’s his want to be great that keeps people in his ecosystem,” Towns explained.
Both stars led their teams to reach the Eastern and Western conferences finals. Towns averaged 24.8 points, 12.2 boards, and 1.8 assists per game, while Edwards tallied 23 points, 7.4 rebounds, and 4.6 assists per game in the series alone.
The Olympic gold medalist led the NBA with 320 three-pointers last season and finished third in the Clutch Player of the Year voting.
