Utah Jazz rookie forward Ace Bailey is currently managing tendonitis in both knees, according to the team.

Head coach Will Hardy explained that the medical staff took a careful approach by pulling Bailey from Monday’s preseason matchup to avoid any unnecessary risk.

“He’s got some tendonitis in both knees. It’s nothing that we’re overly concerned with,” Hardy said of Bailey. “He’s not going to be getting imaged or anything like that. It’s just trying to take care of him. He was a little sore during his second stint.”

Bailey is considered a major long-term piece of Utah’s rebuilding plans. Standing at 6-foot-9, the rookie has been in the starting lineup for all three preseason games he has appeared in so far.

He made an immediate scoring impact with 25 points in one outing and 20 in another before being limited to just three points in 10 minutes on Monday before being taken out of the game for precautionary reasons.
