The Portland Trail Blazers signed guard Sean Pedulla on Tuesday before immediately requesting waivers, the team confirmed. The move follows standard NBA sign-and-waive procedures, often used to secure G League rights for players.
Pedulla, a 6-foot-2 guard from Edmond, Oklahoma, spent the 2025 Summer League with Portland, averaging 15.4 points, 3.8 assists, 3.5 rebounds, and 1.9 steals across 36 games. He started all contests and earned All-SEC Third Team honors during his final collegiate season at Ole Miss in 2024–25.
Before transferring to Ole Miss, Pedulla played three seasons at Virginia Tech, appearing in 102 games and earning 2024 All-ACC Third Team recognition as a junior. His scoring ability and defensive versatility drew attention from multiple NBA teams.
This roster adjustment comes alongside the Trail Blazers’ waiver of forwards MarJon Beauchamp and Andrew Carr, as well as center Liam Robbins. Portland’s current roster now stands at 18 players, including two two-way contracts.
Sign-and-waive moves like Pedulla’s allow NBA teams to retain a player’s rights for their G League affiliate while maintaining flexibility with the main roster. Pedulla is expected to join Portland’s G League team, giving him an opportunity to continue development and potentially earn a call-up during the 2025–26 season.
