Dallas Mavericks forward Naji Marshall set a clear expectation for the upcoming season, stating in an interview with DLLS Sports, “Obviously championship is the goal and I feel like we had a roster to do it.”

Marshall praised rookie Cooper Flagg, who joined the Mavericks as the first overall pick in the 2025 NBA draft. “Amazing. Do-it-all guy on both ends of the floor. Super energetic, super athletic, plays super hard,” he said, via HoopsHype.

The veteran highlighted the talent surrounding the team, including Anthony Davis, Klay Thompson, and D’Angelo Russell, with Kyrie Irving recovering from injury. “It’s just about locking in. I hope we can accomplish what we all know we’re capable of,” Marshall added.

Flagg had an outstanding freshman season at Duke, averaging 19.2 points, 7.5 rebounds, and 4.2 assists per game. He became the first ACC player in 25 years to surpass 500 points, 100 assists, and 30 blocks in a season.

Duke finished 19–1 in ACC play and won the conference tournament, with Flagg leading the team to the NCAA Tournament as the No. 1 seed in the East region. He declared for the NBA draft following his freshman season.

The Mavericks’ roster also features a mix of established stars and young talent, including Daniel Gafford, Dereck Lively II, and Jaden Hardy.
