The New York Knicks have engaged in discussions with other NBA teams about the potential trade of Pacôme Dadiet, league sources tell The Athletic. The 20-year-old French forward, drafted 25th overall in 2024, is seen as the team’s most tradable young prospect.

Dadiet had a productive summer behind the scenes, making it more difficult for New York to consider moving him, according to James L. Edwards III. While the Knicks have prioritized proven veterans to chase immediate success, Dadiet’s upside keeps him in the conversation for potential trades.

If the team were to move a young player, Dadiet would likely generate the highest return, though sources suggest it would probably be limited to a second-round pick or two. His combination of size, athleticism, and scoring potential has made him a notable prospect despite limited NBA experience.

During his rookie season, Dadiet averaged 1.7 points and 1.0 rebounds across 6.2 minutes in 18 games. He spent the majority of the year in the G League with Westchester, posting 14.9 points, 5.4 rebounds, and 2.6 assists in 14 appearances.

Dadiet’s two-way potential and developmental progress have drawn attention across the league. Executives consider him more valuable than other young Knicks like Tyler Kolek or Ariel Hukporti when weighing trade options.

Roster flexibility is a key factor in Dadiet’s status. With Malcolm Brogdon and Landry Shamet expected to start the season on non-guaranteed contracts, the Knicks could need to open a roster spot, making Dadiet the most logical candidate for movement.

Despite trade discussions, some within the organization remain hesitant to part with Dadiet unless the return is significant. There is still a possibility he earns rotation minutes behind the scenes while veterans occupy the primary roles.
