The New York Knicks are adding experience to their roster with the signing of free agent guard Malcolm Brogdon.

NBA insider Shams Charania reported that Brogdon has agreed to a one-year contract with New York, giving the franchise additional playmaking and scoring from the bench.

Brogdon, entering his 10th season, has been a steady contributor throughout his career. He was the 2017 NBA Rookie of the Year with the Milwaukee Bucks and later earned the 2023 Sixth Man of the Year award during his time with the Boston Celtics.

The 32-year-old has played for Milwaukee, Indiana, Boston, Portland, and Washington. He holds career averages of 15.3 points, 4.7 assists, and 4.1 rebounds while shooting 46.3 percent from the field and 38.8 percent from three-point range.

Brogdon’s most productive season came in 2020–21 with the Pacers, when he averaged 21.2 points and 5.9 assists. His playoff résumé includes 43 appearances, highlighted by a strong 2020 run in which he posted 21.5 points and 10.0 assists per game.

The arrival of Brogdon gives new head coach Mike Brown another ballhandler off the bench alongside Jordan Clarkson and Miles McBride.

The Knicks also selected Mohamed Diawara in the second round of the 2025 NBA Draft and are preparing for their 80th season as a franchise. With Brunson as the focal point, Brogdon’s addition strengthens a rotation that aims to contend in the Eastern Conference.
