Pacôme Dadiet’s name is surfacing across the league as the most likely New York Knicks player to be moved before the trade deadline, according to James L. Edwards III of The Athletic.
The 20-year-old forward, drafted 25th overall in 2024, is viewed as the team’s most tradable piece among its younger prospects. Executives believe his combination of size, athleticism, and upside makes him more valuable than fellow youngsters Tyler Kolek or Ariel Hukporti.
New York’s roster situation plays a major role in the discussion. Malcolm Brogdon and Landry Shamet, both on non-guaranteed contracts, are expected to begin the season with the team. To keep both veterans, the Knicks may need to free up a spot, making Dadiet the most logical candidate to move.
The French wing showed flashes during his rookie season, though opportunities were limited. He averaged 1.7 points and 1.0 rebounds in 6.2 minutes across 18 games for the Knicks, while spending much of the year developing with the Westchester Knicks in the G League.
In the G League, Dadiet delivered more consistent production, posting 14.9 points, 5.4 rebounds, and 2.6 assists per game in 14 appearances.
While some around the league expect Dadiet’s trade return to be no more than a second-round pick, others believe his profile could fetch more. His potential as a two-way forward keeps him in demand, even as he remains a project.
