The Golden State Warriors have a revamped roster after acquiring Al Horford, Seth Curry, De’Anthony Melton, and re-signing Gary Payton II and Jonathan Kuminga.

However, Kerr said during the conference that he plans to revive his former small-ball rotation, with Draymond Green at center, as it was effective for him back then, according to ESPN’s Anthony Slater.

“Do we want to start big? Have a traditional 5. Or do we want to start like we did last year? Draymond at the 5, Moses and BP in the backcourt. That was a really successful lineup. We could start that way and still not have to play Draymond heavy minutes at the 5.”

Although no statements have been made yet on starting Horford, the Warriors’ head tactician was grateful to have him because of his ability to create better spacing that the team needed.

“We’re gonna be a little different. I think we’ll be able to have better spacing than we’ve had one through five since I’ve been here.”

Kerr is about to enter his final year of his contract with no discussion of an extension yet. It is now his 12th season coaching the Warriors’ core, which includes Curry and Green, as they have formerly earned four titles in the previous years.

He entered the 2023-2024 season on a similar expiring deal, but eventually signed a record two-year, $35 million extension in February that season.
