Tyler Dorsey shined brightest on Sunday night, pouring in 23 points on a near-perfect 5-of-7 shooting from beyond the arc to lead Olympiacos Piraeus past Promitheas Patras 92–83 in the 2025 Greek SuperCup Final.

His performance earned him the game’s MVP honors and secured Olympiacos its fourth consecutive SuperCup title.

“I just tried to stay aggressive from the beginning,” Dorsey said after the game. “My teammates found me in great spots, and once the first couple of shots went down, my confidence was high. Winning this trophy again means a lot for the club and the fans.”

Olympiacos, boosted by Sasha Vezenkov’s 16 points, controlled the flow for most of the night. They surged ahead by as many as 19 points, holding a commanding 55–36 advantage early in the second half.

Dorsey’s hot shooting helped extend the gap to 70–51 late in the third quarter, but Promitheas refused to bow out quietly.

Fueled by tough defense and a series of Olympiacos turnovers, Promitheas stormed back to cut the margin to just 76–72 with a little over five minutes remaining.

For a moment, the underdogs had the Reds on edge. But Olympiacos responded like champions, stringing together an 8–2 run and maintaining their lead until the final buzzer.

Thanasis Bazinas led Promitheas with 17 points, while Kendale McCullum impressed with 14 points and eight assists. Pauly Paulicup added 14 points and eight rebounds in the losing effort.

For Olympiacos, Donta Hall contributed 11 points and five boards, and Thomas Walkup also reached double figures with 11 points.

The tournament itself carried added intrigue because archrival Panathinaikos was absent. The Greens withdrew after the Greek league refused their request to reschedule the SuperCup, which clashed with their own “Pavlos Giannakopoulos” tournament held in Australia.

As a result, Panathinaikos not only missed the event but were also fined €20,000 and barred from participating in the 2026 SuperCup.

Despite the absence of their eternal rivals, both clubs exchanged respectful messages after the final. Panathinaikos posted a congratulatory note to Olympiacos on social media, with Olympiacos responding in kind.

For Olympiacos, however, the night belonged to Dorsey.

“It’s always special to win with this jersey,” he said. “We wanted to start the season with a trophy, and we did just that.”
