The Toronto Raptors have signed and waived guard Jarkel Joiner on an Exhibit 10 contract, a move designed to route him to Raptors 905 of the NBA G League.

Keith Smith of Spotrac reported the transaction Friday, noting that the deal allows Toronto to maintain Joiner’s rights with its G League affiliate. Exhibit 10 contracts are commonly used by NBA teams during training camp to ensure a player is eligible for a G League bonus.

Joiner, 26, went undrafted in the 2023 NBA Draft after finishing his college career at NC State. He first signed with the Atlanta Hawks ahead of the 2023 preseason but was waived after four days. He then spent most of the past two years with the College Park Skyhawks, Atlanta’s G League affiliate.

In 32 games for College Park last season, Joiner averaged 11.6 points, 2.9 rebounds, and 2.8 assists while shooting 41.6 percent from the field and 35.5 percent from three-point range. His numbers marked a slight scoring increase from his 2023–24 campaign, when he averaged 11.1 points in 30 appearances.

The signing continues Toronto’s offseason strategy of bolstering Raptors 905 while shaping its main roster under head coach Darko Rajakovic. With the departure of longtime team president Masai Ujiri after the 2025 NBA Draft, the organization has shifted its player development focus.

Joiner’s path to the NBA remains challenging, but his Exhibit 10 deal provides him with an opportunity to develop further in Mississauga. If he remains with Raptors 905 for at least 60 days, he becomes eligible for a bonus of up to $75,000.
