The Atlanta Hawks have officially signed Jarkel Joiner to an Exhibit 10 contract, per Lauren L. Williams. Joiner, who went undrafted in the 2023 NBA Draft, has shown promise through his collegiate career and brief stints with the Hawks’ Summer League and G League affiliate.

Joiner’s journey to the NBA began with a successful college career, where he demonstrated scoring prowess and leadership. As a freshman, he averaged 10.3 points per game. His breakout came during his sophomore season, where he posted 15.6 points per game and earned First Team All-WAC honors. Following that success, Joiner transferred to Ole Miss, where he sat out one season due to NCAA transfer rules.

At Ole Miss, Joiner averaged 12 points per game in his junior year. Despite a back injury that limited him during his senior season, he managed to average 13.2 points and 2.3 assists per game. Joiner then transferred to NC State, where he had his most productive season, averaging 17 points, 4.8 rebounds, and 3.6 assists per game. He led NC State to its first NCAA Tournament appearance since 2018 and was named to the Second Team All-ACC.

Joiner’s impressive college performance earned him an opportunity with the Hawks in the 2023 NBA Summer League. Although he was waived by the Hawks on October 8, he continued to work with their G League affiliate, the College Park Skyhawks, demonstrating his determination to reach the NBA.

Last season, Joiner averaged 11.1 points, 3.2 rebounds, and 4.5 assists in 29.3 minutes per game for the Skyhawks.

The Exhibit-10 contract allows Joiner to compete for a roster spot or remain with the team’s G League affiliate. His time with the College Park Skyhawks showcased his ability to adapt to the professional game, and the Hawks are giving him another chance to prove himself at the NBA level.
