Pregnant journalist Eleonora Boi, wife of former NBA star Danilo Gallinari, revealed she’s still shaken after being hospitalized following a shark attack in Puerto Rico.

“I have to say that I’m traumatized,” Boi told “Good Morning America,” recalling how she cried and screamed for help in Italian. The attack occurred while she was swimming with Gallinari and their two young children in shallow waters at Carolina Beach.

Initially thinking it was a jellyfish, Boi felt a burning pain in her thigh before realizing it was a shark. A bystander helped by applying pressure to her wound with a towel until further assistance arrived.

“I was saying, ‘I don’t want to die, I want my baby to be safe,’” the journalist said. She called the woman “an angel” and expressed deep gratitude for her help.

Boi, six months pregnant at the time, underwent hours of tests at the hospital to ensure her baby – Gallinari confirmed it’s a boy – was unharmed before surgery.

She is expected to make a full recovery but admitted, “When I remember, I’m still scared. It’s difficult.”

The couple married in 2022, and Gallinari recently played in Puerto Rico after 14 NBA seasons, including time with the New York Knicks.
