Olympiacos decided not to loan Igor Milosevic to Lietuvos Rytas because of his dual citizenship (Serbian and Greek) as the club lacks Greek players in its roster. Lrytas.lt reports that Bojan Popovic now became the main target for Rytas. Serbian point guard played for Bruesa in the Spanish ACB league last season.

Popovic has also played for some of the top teams in Europe such as Unicaja and Dynamo Moscow. Previous season wasn’t too successful for Bojan Popovic as he averaged 6.6 points per game in a team which finished 12th in the ACB and missed the play-offs.

Jonas Vainauskas, Chairman of Lietuvos Rytas, said that the main problem in acquiring Popovic could be his wage. He wasn’t sure whether the player would accept the offer that Rytas can make. Vainauskas didn’t rule out the possibility that the club could start looking for American point guard in case they can’t sign Popovic.
