Former NBA star Lance Stephenson is speaking out strongly against a bizarre trend at WNBA games: fans throwing sex toys onto the court.
Stephenson, who played 14 seasons in the NBA and now competes in the BIG3 basketball league, told TMZ Sports that enough is enough – especially considering the large number of children who attend WNBA games.
“I got kids,” Stephenson said firmly. “For them to see that on the floor, man, I mean, I’d be devastated. Stop doing that stuff, man. A lot of kids be at the games.
“We’re supporting the girls, we’re trying to get the girls’ games to keep leveling up, and it’s going great right now. But for them to keep doing stuff like that, it makes us not want to bring our kids to the game. So they need to stop.”
The controversy erupted after a fourth recorded incident of a dildo being thrown onto the court during a WNBA contest. In each case, the disruption halted play and required security staff to intervene.
