It’s not just Lance Stephenson calling for the end of sex toy–throwing antics at WNBA games – unexpected allies are joining the chorus, including adult product companies themselves.

The owner of Twisted Fantasies, a business specializing in adult toys, told reporters that while there’s nothing wrong with their products in the right context, a public sporting event is simply not the place.

“There’s definitely a time and place for that. A public sporting event isn’t it,” the owner stated.

Comedian Gary Owen, known for his sports fandom, also condemned the behavior – but with a slightly different take. While he thinks it’s wrong and inappropriate, he acknowledged that it has undeniably drawn attention to the WNBA.

“Look at what we’re talking about,” Owen said. “So it worked. All press is good press. Especially in the WNBA.”

As for the alleged culprits, they’ve claimed their actions are not meant to disrespect the athletes. Instead, they insist it’s part of a campaign to raise awareness for their cryptocurrency project – an explanation that has done little to quiet criticism.
