After missing out on Jonas Valanciunas last month, Greek club Panathinaikos is still searching for frontcourt reinforcement and reportedly has NBA free agent Precious Achiuwa on their radar.

Kevin Martorano of Sportando shared this update, referencing Vasilis Papatheodorou of SDNA, who says Achiuwa is among Panathinaikos’ shortlist of potential signings.

Approaching his 26th birthday in September, the player has spent the last season and a half with the New York Knicks, following a December 2023 trade from Toronto that also involved OG Anunoby.

In 57 games during the 2024/25 season, he averaged 6.6 points, 5.6 rebounds, and 1.0 assists over 20.5 minutes per game, shooting .502/.278/.594 from the field.

Though slightly undersized for a center and lacking an outside shooting threat, Achiuwa is known for his athleticism, energy, solid rebounding, and versatile defense.

Despite this, he remains unsigned a month into free agency. A return to the Knicks seems unlikely, especially after they signed Guerschon Yabusele, who filled his roster spot.

While there’s no clear sign of strong mutual interest between Achiuwa and Panathinaikos yet, this is the first notable rumor involving him in several weeks, making it a situation worth monitoring.
