Caris LeVert’s signing with the Detroit Pistons marks more than just a new chapter in his career – it’s a homecoming.

A native of Ohio who starred at the University of Michigan, LeVert is returning to the state where he first rose to national prominence, and he’s excited to play in familiar territory.

“I’m super excited to be playing back here in the state of Michigan and playing for this team,” the player said in an interview with The Athletic.

“I’m a big fan of the culture here. I played for J.B. for three years. I’m a big fan of a lot of the guys on the team. [I’m] a fan of how they work, how they play, how competitive they are. I think they’ve got a lot of high-character guys in the organization.”

The reunion doesn’t end with Bickerstaff. LeVert will also share the court with another Michigan alum, Duncan Robinson, who recently joined the Pistons via trade.

The duo previously played together in Ann Arbor and now have the chance to reconnect on an NBA stage.
